How to Remove Pet Hair from a Sofa in Dubai: 7 Quick Steps
اقرأ دليل تنظيف الأريكة بالعربية
Pet hair on a sofa can build up quickly, especially on fabric seats, cushions, seams and corners. You do not need expensive equipment to clean it. Follow these seven practical steps.
1. Remove cushions and shake off loose hair
Take removable cushions outside or over an easy-to-clean floor. Gently shake them so loose fur and dust fall away before you start.
2. Vacuum the sofa first
Use a vacuum upholstery attachment to collect loose hair, crumbs and dust. Move slowly over the seat, backrest and armrests.
3. Sweep with a slightly damp rubber glove
Put on a clean rubber glove and make it only slightly damp. Move your hand across the fabric in one direction. The friction gathers fine hair into small clumps that are easy to pick up. Test a hidden area first.
4. Use a lint roller in short, overlapping strokes
Roll from top to bottom using short strokes. Overlap each pass so you do not leave narrow strips of fur behind. A covered roller is useful for quick daily clean-ups and storage.
5. Clean seams and corners carefully
Press the roller gently into the sofa seams, around buttons and along the edges. For deep gaps, use the narrow vacuum nozzle first.
6. Rotate or replace the adhesive sheet
When the sheet stops collecting hair, expose a fresh section. Continuing with a saturated sheet only moves fur around instead of lifting it.
7. Prevent heavy build-up
Give your pet a washable blanket in its favourite spot. Clean that blanket and roll the sofa once or twice each week. Frequent light cleaning is faster than waiting for a thick layer of hair.
Quick safety note
Always test cleaning methods on a hidden area first. Do not use a wet glove on fabric that may water-mark, and follow the sofa maker's care label.
