How to Remove Pet Hair from an Abaya in Dubai Without Damaging the Fabric

اقرأ دليل تنظيف العباءة بالعربية

Pet hair can cling to an abaya, especially around the sleeves, sides and lower hem. The safest approach is dry, gentle and directional: avoid hard scrubbing, strong tape and high heat.

1. Check the care label

Before cleaning, confirm whether the abaya is polyester, crepe, nida, silk blend or decorated with beads. If the label requires specialist cleaning, follow that instruction.

2. Hang the abaya in good light

Use a wide hanger and inspect the fabric from top to bottom. Pet hair is easier to see and remove when the garment is hanging flat.

3. Use a clean lint roller with light pressure

Roll in one direction instead of moving back and forth. Start at the shoulders, continue down the sleeves and finish at the hem. Replace the sheet as soon as it loses grip.

4. Protect embroidery and delicate trim

Do not roll directly over loose beads, sequins or raised embroidery. Clean around these areas with short, controlled strokes.

5. Finish seams with a slightly damp glove

For hair trapped near seams, pass a clean rubber glove that is only slightly damp over the fabric. Test a hidden area first and never soak the garment.

6. Store the abaya away from pet bedding

After cleaning, keep it in a breathable garment cover. Regularly clean the chair, sofa or car seat where pet hair transfers back onto clothing.
